A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The downside of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited email messages, but this problem can be resolved by using anti-spam filtering software. It is also important to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
Creating a catch-all mailbox will be quite easy in case you have a cloud hosting with us. You can enable the feature through our advanced, albeit simple-to-work-with Email Manager, which is part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll administer the shared web hosting account itself. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you have set up enumerated alphabetically and next to each one there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly notify you if a specific mailbox receives all the messages associated with a certain domain name or not. With one mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this feature whenever you like. If there is enabled email forwarding or if another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain, you’ll get a warning notification from our system. The latter won’t deactivate/replace anything automatically and without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You will be able to create a catch-all email address with no more than a click in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated server with our company and your emails are handled by our cloud web hosting platform. All the email addresses that you set up using any domain name hosted in your account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel. Each of them will have a small-size "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to enable the feature will be to click on that icon. In the exact same fashion you will be able to deactivate the feature, in case you do not need it any longer. Our system will inform you in case you are trying to activate a 2nd catch-all email address for a given domain name or if there’s active email forwarding, but it will never alter or disable any feature automatically or without your consent.
